Irishman Willie Mullins is a trainer racing fans in Australia are very familiar with. The National Hunt man often enters horses in the Melbourne Cup at the Spring Racing Carnival at Flemington Racecourse.

The 66-year-old is best known for his success at the Cheltenham Festival, the most important week of the season in jumps racing. He is the most successful trainer in the history of the meeting, and he could be set for more success this year.

Galopin Des Champs Represents Mullins in Gold Cup

Mullins has been successful in the feature race of the Cheltenham Festival, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, twice. Al Boum Photo gave him his maiden victory in 2019, while 12 months later, the same horse defended his crown.

If Galopin Des Champs prevails on the final day this year, it may help him land the leading trainer award at the meeting. The Irishman is the odds-on favourite at 1/8 in the Cheltenham Festival top trainer betting odds. Results on Gold Cup Day go a long way towards settling the individual trainer, jockey and owner prizes for the week.

Mullins has every reason to be confident about the prospects of Galopin Des Champs in the Gold Cup. His horse prevailed in the Irish Gold Cup earlier in the campaign. He proved he has the stamina for three miles chases, while there is doubt about this horse’s speed.

Facile Vega Can Get Mullins Off to A Fast Start

The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is the opening race of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, and this race can often set the pattern for the week ahead. Victory in this 2m hurdles contest gives the winning connections a real confidence boost for the rest of the meeting.

Mullins has won the Festival curtain-raiser a record seven times, including in 2021 with Appreciate It. He has some strong entries this year, with the best of those thought to be Facile Vega. Last season’s impressive Champion Bumper winner has had an impressive opening campaign over hurdles.

The eight-year-old does need to bounce back from defeat at the Dublin Racing Festival on his latest outing, but that’s the only blip in his career, as he has been successful in six of his seven races under Rules.

Gaillard Du Mesnil Looking to Enhance Grand National Claims

One of Mullins’ best chances of a winner at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival comes in the National Hunt Chase where Gaillard Du Mesnil will feature in the 3m6f contest. The Irish horse has an entry in the Grand National at Aintree in April.

The National Hunt Chase has been used by many Grand National winners as their final prep run before they line up at Aintree. Mullins’ chaser won the Grade One Neville Hotels Novice Chase at Leopardstown earlier in the campaign, so he sets the standard in the race.

With eight appearances over fences, Gaillard Du Mesnil has a lot of experience for a novice chaser. If successful in the day two contest, it will be the fourth time Mullins has been victorious in the longest race of the meeting.

With 88 Cheltenham Festival winners going into the 2023 meeting, Mullins could be much closer to the 100 mark by the time this year’s renewal of the event concludes.

Read to find out how to market abroad.

If you’ve been running a business for a few years, you might be starting to think about branching out and attracting more customers. This means looking abroad and seeing whether your services translate over the borders. If you find that it does, then you’re faced with a challenge.

How exactly do you market to those customers? You can’t really use the same marketing scheme that you use at home, right? However, the marketing scheme you already have will be pretty close to working internationally.

You just need to know what you are doing and how it can be manipulated to work overseas. With this in mind, here are a few ways you can update your marketing plan and create a business that works anywhere:

Keep The Channels in your Market Ticking

One of the most important things to do when marketing abroad is to keep your marketing channels ticking over. No matter whether you are utilising b2c or b2b marketing channels, many of them are already going to transcend borders. This means that they’re ready to draw any international clients in. Therefore the use of social media is going to be particularly important. Try to steadily de-localise some of your posts, and you will find that more customers will be drawn in as a result.

Find Out How Target Customers Differ

There’s no doubt about it, your target customers in the UK are going to be slightly different to your target customers in Australia, even if they’re the same in their needs. Every market is different, whether it’s in the language or the culture itself, so conduct precise research and familiarize yourself with the location that you are targeting.

Translate Your Assets Properly

It might sound like an obvious point, but if you’re targeting an audience who cannot understand what you are selling, your marketing schemes are not exactly going to work very well. You need to find out everything there is to know about website translation, as well as content, price lists and catalogue translation, and you need to carry it out efficiently. That is to say, you need to ensure there are no mistakes. Seeing just one mistake is likely to put a customer off and make them think this product is not really for them. Therefore efforts need to be made to ensure adequate attempt to translate their own language.

Be Aware Of Legal And Government Policies

Doing business in another country means you will have to follow that country’s laws and policies. This is not a problem, so long as you research their market policies and ensure your company is complying with all the regulations. If you do not, then you might find that your marketing strategies are stifled before you’ve even begun to feel the effects.

Elevate Your Business’ Customer Service

One other thing to be aware of is your customer service. Your customer service might already seem to be on track and it very well might be. But it is likely to be tested further once you have international market interest in your business. You need to ensure your employees are ready to deliver a good experience. Furthermore your website needs to be adapted to deal with likely customer queries from abroad. This is another means of marketing that will not only keep all your customers happy. Also ensure that your new international customers are comfortable with returning and use your services regularly.
